This site has been a miracle in the works for several years, and thanks to the help of many
supporters, we are here as a source of comfort for those who need help.
I have heard from many grieving people over the years who have expressed their feelings of
being "stuck" in the grieving process. It can happen at any time. Often, it is when one is grieving
after the loss and it seems the rest of the world has gone back to 'normal' - except ME.
Sometimes we have been dealing with our grief for some time, and just can't seem to get past a
certain 'hump' and feel like we are spinning our wheels. And sometimes we have just become too
accustomed to the pain, and do not even realize we are wearing it like a comfy, warm blanket.
Whatever the case, we must first want to heal from the pain if we are to move forward. It is very
common, though not particularly healthy, to hold onto pain when we are grieving.
It takes courage and determination to make a decision to live again after a loss, and if we don't
want to live again, to determine why.
The first baby step to becoming unstuck is acknowledging that we are indeed stuck and need
help. The worst thing a grieving person can do is to isolate themselves, but it is all too common.
